This 3 week series will be an introduction to yoga for bigger bodies. Regardless of your body size, shape or flexibility, Yoga will meet you exactly where you are on your journey to happiness and well-being. Yoga creates a positive mind space so you can accept and embrace the beautiful capable body you live in. Learn to move freely with confidence by letting go of the question “How should my body look in this pose?” and start connecting to your inner awareness so you can ask yourself “How does my body feel in this pose?"
In this 3 part series, Bryna will teach you how to modify basic yoga postures to support your unique body by using the available props provided in any yoga studio. They will teach multiple variations for each posture, showing you how to make yoga safe and comfortable for your specific body type. You will learn how to connect to your body without judgement in a supportive and compassionate community of like bodied people.
We will integrate our movements with breathing exercises to empower you to move with confidence and purpose. Learn to cultivate patience for yourself while strengthening and stretching your muscles at your pace. We will take the time to personally assist each student for maximum comfort and encourage each practitioner to find their own expression in each yoga pose. This is an interactive workshop where we will have conversations about body positivity and self love. You will leave this class with a deeper appreciation of your body and all it can do, basic knowledge of yoga terms, postures, breath work, body awareness, meditation and the ability to make yoga work for you in any yoga class.
