An Introduction to Ayurveda for Vibrancy, Longevity and Optimal Health

Ayurveda, a sister science to yoga, translates as “The Science of Life”. Ancient Ayurvedic principles connect us to the daily rhythms of nature which can help increase our vibrancy, improve our health, lessen our stresses and connect us to greater joy in life.

In this workshop we will discuss the philosophy behind Ayurveda and the five elements of Ether, Air, Fire, Earth and Water and how they combine to become the Doshas known as Vata (air/space), Pitta (fire/water), and Kapha (water/earth).

When their actions in our mind-body constitution are balanced, we experience psychological and physical wellness. When they are unbalanced, we may feel anxious, imbalanced or fragmented. When they are significantly out of balance -- when one or more of the three dosha influences are excessive -- obvious symptoms or even disease can be observed and experienced.

Together we will determine your unique blend of these elements — known as your prakruti. You will leave with dietary suggestions and daily routines (dinacharya) as well as the best practices for your unique dosha.

Regardless of our own particular constitution or dosha, we are each influenced by our natural world. Ayurveda teaches us how to balance these qualities in simple and logical ways that just makes so much sense!
