Myofascial Release for Athletes

Participants will learn self-myofascial release techniques for athletes and anyone who moves their body often. We will cover a range of at-home techniques that will allow you to release tension and pain in your own muscles and surrounding connective tissue.

Using various sizes of massage therapy balls, deep stretches, and gentle movement you will learn creative and proven effective techniques to release tension in the shoulders, hip flexors, pelvic girdle, upper-lower legs, and feet that are typically used during athletic activities.

This is a hands-on workshop where participants will try out these techniques on themselves and learn about daily maintenance for their muscles.

Access hard to reach tightness
Ease tension and pain
Stimulate circulation
Soften scar tissue
Release trigger points
Work into soft connective tissue
Improve breath capacity
Enhance movement, performance, and recovery
Stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (the deep healing mode of your body)

The goal of this practice is to provide you with a framework of how to approach releasing your own muscles that can be used on any muscle of the body, even those that have not been covered in this specific workshop.

*Please note the balls are not recommended for bruised skin or broken bones. If you have osteoporosis, please check with your doctor before attending this or any new body wellness program.

No experience necessary. All levels are welcome, and massage therapy balls will be provided for the duration of class.
