Adapting a trauma sensitive approach through a heart centered lenses:
Cultivating a sense of heart-centeredness in a yoga space from a trauma sensitive lens means:
1. Creating a container that can facilitate safety for our yoga students
2. Cultivating a sense of trustworthy behavior over time through transparency with our students
3. Seeing what’s right with our yoga student’s practice.
4. Facilitating with spirit of empowerment and offering choice
5. Creating a space where our yoga students are the experts on their own yoga experience and their bodies
6. Cultivating a sense of shared power by welcoming feedback
7. Keeping in mind our yoga student’s diverse life experiences
Learning to adopt a trauma sensitive approach to yoga through a heart centered lens can feel overwhelming for anyone wanting to begin this path but not sure where to start. In this 4 week series, you will learn the basics of how the nervous system informs how your students might be showing up in a yoga class, cultivate practices that will support you in holding compassionate space in a yoga room with an opportunity to practice teach within this framework with feedback and edify your teaching voice in a trauma sensitive spirit.
