The Inner Roadmap: A Journey Through the Chakras
Ever feel like your "battery" is drained, even when you’ve slept? Or maybe you feel physically strong but mentally scattered? In the yogic tradition, we have an internal map of energy centers called Chakras.
Think of them as the electrical hubs of your body, when they’re clear and flowing, you feel balanced, focused, and vibrant. When they’re "clogged," life can feel like an uphill climb.
Join us for these classes where we move beyond just "stretching" and start tuning into the subtle architecture of our own energy. Each week, we dive deep into one specific chakra using a blend of targeted asanas (poses), pranayama (breathwork), and focused meditation.
We’ll use the body as a doorway to balance your nervous system and refine your focus. You’ll learn how these centers affect your physical health, your emotional resilience, and the natural rhythm of your breath. You’ll walk away with more than just a "yoga high", you’ll have a toolkit to manage your energy long after you leave the mat.
You don’t need to be a mystic to do this work; you just need to be a human who wants to feel a little more centered in a chaotic world.

The Inner Temple Journey
A Monthly Cacao, Breath, Astrology, Group Reiki & Sound Experience
The Inner Temple Journey is a monthly afternoon ceremonial gathering — a sacred pause in the middle of the day to return inward, attune to the wisdom of the cosmos, and restore harmony through ritual, breath, energy, and sound.
Each month, our journey is guided by the astrological sign of the season, offering a collective theme for reflection, embodiment, and healing. The zodiac becomes a living map — illuminating the emotional, energetic, and spiritual invitations present at this point in the lunar and solar cycle, and shaping the intention of our time together.
We begin with a heart-opening cacao ceremony, honoring cacao as a sacred plant ally and gentle teacher. Prepared with intention, ceremonial-grade cacao supports emotional openness, embodied presence, and connection — to yourself and to the shared circle.
From there, we move into the medicine of the breath. Through conscious, rhythmic breathwork, we awaken life force energy, release stored tension, and soften emotional holding. Breath becomes the bridge between body and spirit, guiding you toward clarity, vitality, and inner spaciousness.
During the breathwork journey, we will open the field to receive collective Reiki, offering universal life force energy to the group as a whole. This shared energetic field supports nervous system regulation, balance, and integration as breath gently guides the process.
Our journey concludes with healing sound, including crystal singing bowls, resonant vocal tones, and meditative vibrations. Sound gently integrates the afternoon’s work, helping insights and energetic shifts settle and anchor before you return to the rest of your day.
This gathering is open to all — whether you are new to ceremonial spaces or deeply familiar with energy work. Each month is unique, shaped by the astrology of the season and the energy of those present. You are held with care, respect, and attunement, so you may feel safe, supported, and deeply seen.

Summer Solstice Sound Journey & Restorative Bliss
This radiant threshold invites us to connect with vibrational frequencies that align the body, heart, and spirit with abundance, vitality, and compassionate transformation. As the healing energy of the solstice is amplified by the resonant vibrations of Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, we create the conditions for deep restoration, spaciousness, and bliss.
As above, so below. As without, so within.
The microcosm mirrors the macrocosm, and all growth unfolds through cycles. The Summer Solstice reminds us that the light outside of us also lives within us — illuminating the places where we are ready to break free, break through, and evolve.
And because transition can feel tender, we call upon the compassionate energy of the Divine Mother to guide us with nurturing, grace, and protection as we move through this evolutionary turning.
The Summer Solstice also initiates the Sun’s transition into Cancer, bringing forward watery, nourishing, creative energy. Cancer invites emotional connection, clearing, safety, intimacy, and care. This is the sign of The Mother — the one who feeds, holds, protects, and gives life.
Her warm embrace is waiting for you.

Gentle Yin
Sometimes called the quiet yoga, yin yoga is a slow, floor-based practice that invites you to settle into longer-held poses with very little movement. Rather than flowing from posture to posture, you’ll gently ease into shapes that nourish the body’s connective tissues—especially the fascia—while creating space to notice sensation, breath, and subtle shifts within. From the outside it may resemble restorative yoga, but in yin we are exploring a gentle, sustainable stretch and staying there with curiosity.
Instead of focusing on how a pose looks, yin yoga is about how it feels. The intention is not to achieve a perfect shape, but to find a meaningful sensation in the body without pain. You’ll be guided to work at about 50–60% of your capacity—enough to feel something without pushing or forcing. This moderate approach allows the body to soften gradually over time, and often deeper sensation naturally emerges as the body relaxes.
In this class you’ll be introduced to the foundations of a yin practice in a way that is supportive and approachable. You’ll learn how to gauge intensity, how to use props to support your body, and how to stay present and attentive during longer holds. Along the way, you may discover that slowing down and doing less can actually help you feel more.
Over time, this quiet practice can support mobility, calm the nervous system, and gently unwind layers of accumulated tension. No previous yoga experience is needed—just a little curiosity and a willingness to slow down and listen to your body.

Guiding rest practices will always be relevant because the nature of the human condition is restlessness. This training is devoted to all those dedicated to teaching the rich discipline of relaxation. 10 hours of study will support a specialized understanding of Restorative yoga’s scriptural, philosophical, and existential roots, the spiritual questions we face when resting, and how the practice can lead us to deeper meaning, greater truth, and marked healing from the inside out. Rest as Reciprocity (Mentorship Module)
Teaching Restorative yoga and other rest-centered practices allows us to develop deep, meaningful relationships, opens our hearts and minds to more clarity, and even influences our words and deeds through the lens of support and ease. Despite these benefits, commitment to this life-changing practice often lacks collaboration and counsel with other instructors, a vital component of nourishing our capacity and sustaining our teaching over time. This program helps participants foster confidence and finesse in their teaching by: refining space-holding capability through teaching observation, developing creativity through personalized assignments and self-study, and reflecting in 1-on-1 meetings with Alicia Delaney. Pre-requisite attendance in all other module trainings is not required, but is strongly encouraged; those who participate in only this module will create an independent study schedule directly with Alicia. In addition to direct mentorship contact and homework assignments, all participants will be required to attend a practicum and discussion on Saturday, December 12th from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in the Main Studio at Joy of Yoga in order to receive a full 10 hours of continuing education credit.

Healing Breathwork for Shifting Tides
This guided breathwork session is an active meditation centered on healing the mind, body, and spirit. Together, we will explore the theme of shifting tides—the unexpected, the uncertain, and what becomes possible when we open our hearts and lean into life's natural changes. Through the breath, we will invite an unfurling: a release of tension, fear, and unease, creating space for greater trust, presence, and possibility. As we soften into what is here now and open to what is yet to come, we allow ourselves to be carried by the wisdom of the moment and the rhythm of the tides.
This 2 part active breathing meditation creates space to let go of emotional weight and energetic blocks while deepening your connection to your body and heart. As you turn inward, you will be guided to listen to the subtle wisdom of your breath, allowing your nervous system to settle and restore. In this space, you can begin to feel more anchored, supported and open to the shifting of the tides.
You will leave feeling grounded, present, held and reconnected to your innse sense of safety and belonging.
All levels are welcome. Permission to arrive exactly as you are.
Optional to bring a blanket and an eye pillow to support a comfortable, nurturing experience.

Many Lives, Many Masters: A Reflective Book Club Gathering
Reincarnation is one of life’s greatest and most intriguing mysteries.
Join Julia for a thought-provoking Book Club experience as we explore Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Weiss, a true story that blurs the line between science, healing, and the unknown.
Through his work with a patient named Catherine, Dr. Weiss began to uncover memories that could not be easily explained, except through the possibility of past lives. What followed was not only profound healing, but a discovery that would ripple across millions of lives, including Julia’s own.
In this intimate and reflective gathering, we’ll open the door to deeper questions:
Have you ever felt a knowing you couldn’t explain?
A connection, a memory, a sense that there is something more?
Come ready to listen, reflect, and perhaps… remember.

Ayurveda Spring Community Cleanse: The Path to Vitality
Join us as we gently move out the old and make space for the new. Seasonal transitions often leave us feeling a little stuck — in our habits, our energy, or our thinking. We may feel heavy in the body, cloudy in the mind, or unsure in our decision making. Ayurveda recognizes this as a natural part of moving between seasons, and it also teaches that this is the ideal time to cleanse, reset, and restore balance.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, a detox isn’t about deprivation or extremes. It’s about opening the body’s channels so that what has accumulated can move out while nourishment moves in. This includes toxicity in all realms of life — physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual.
Our time together will begin with two weeks of learning and preparation. During this phase we will explore the foundations of Ayurveda — the five elements, the doshas, and how these energetic principles shape our unique mind-body constitution. You’ll begin to understand your own dosha and learn how to recognize imbalances as they arise. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to create balance in ways that are individualized and supportive for your own system. This preparation phase helps ensure that when we begin the detox process, you are doing so in a way that truly aligns with your body rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
Its wisdom is rooted in simplicity. Ayurveda encourages gradual lifestyle shifts that allow new habits to take root naturally, making transformation both sustainable and deeply supportive over time.
Research shows that meaningful change often happens more easily and lasts longer when we move through the process together. During this detox we will stay connected through daily group interaction and guidance from Joy, offering support, accountability, and encouragement as we move through the experience as a community. This creates a very different relationship to detoxing and habit change — one rooted in support rather than struggle.
Throughout the program we will explore Ayurvedic practices for nourishment, cultivating body wisdom, removing toxicity, and building vitality. You’ll be invited to take what resonates and leave what doesn’t. In my own life, these practices have helped reduce inflammation, increase energy, improve sleep, bring greater clarity to thinking and decision making, and spark more creativity and joy.
While these Ayurvedic tools can support detox in many areas of life, we will also share simple recipes for food and drink and learn about digestive spices and herbs. Meals will be nourishing, satisfying, protein- and nutrient-rich, vegetarian, and simple to prepare — often one-pot recipes. You will not go hungry. The focus is on nourishment and balance, not restriction.
You will also learn about the doshas and begin to understand your own unique mind-body constitution. With this awareness, you can make more supportive choices around food, spices, daily rhythms, and lifestyle practices that work best for your individual system. These insights can support better sleep, more stable energy, stronger digestion and lymphatic flow, soothed adrenals, and greater emotional and mental clarity.
Together we will create a loving presence for the body and nurture it back toward balance and wholeness. This approach isn’t about forcing change through willpower. It’s about gently shifting our biochemistry and neurochemistry, restoring the body’s natural intelligence, and allowing the body and intuition to lead the way.

Yoga Teacher Training & Immersion 2026
Joy of Yoga and Wildwood Yoga are conducting a 200HR Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher Training Program and Immersion for anyone wanting to become a certified yoga teacher or simply deepen their yoga practice and understanding of yoga's roots. The content of this course encourages meaningful engagement with all 8 Limbs of Yoga and how they apply to our modern lives.
What makes this Yoga Teacher Training distinctive is its ability to draw from a wide spectrum of yoga practices, philosophies and techniques. This training promises to deliver intellectually stimulating content, physically empowering practices, and spiritual connection. There is a large focus on spirituality, meditation, pranayama, and philosophy as well as anatomy, alignment and physical postures.
Joy and Jill created this teacher training to be about more than just teaching. While the success rate of motivated students becoming teachers through this course is high, many take this training to deepen their experience of yoga in their daily life and gain a deeper understanding of yoga's history, philosophy and practical application in today's world.
Each training weekend is infused with the mythical stories of Yoga, and the energies of a mythical deity that applies to the content of that weekend. We will weave the iconography, mythology, mantras and energy/role of that deity throughout the weekend's philosophy teachings, meditations and chanting, covering many of the most widely recognized deities in the Hindu pantheon.
This is a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher Training. During this training, you will also develop skills and education around Trauma-informed yoga.
Upon completing this training, all students will have free access at no additional cost to a mentorship/coaching program headed by Joy and Jill to further develop your skills as a yoga teacher or deepen yoga in your everyday life after the completion of the training.
Every student receives unlimited free yoga classes at both Joy of Yoga and Wildwood Yoga for the duration of the program.
Requirements for this training: A desire to learn and immerse yourself in the teachings of yoga. Physical strength and flexibility are not requirements to be a yoga teacher. The desire to better yourself and those around you are the requirements for this training.
This training is designed to connect you to your inner teacher and guide. This is not a set of prescribed sequences that must be delivered with prescribed speech. It is a map to lead you to that inner wisdom and voice of the teacher within. Intuition, creativity, connection and thoughtful application are the cornerstones of the knowledge and teaching methods you will gain. Teachers will learn the art of sequencing, knowing that there is never just one way, but that there is always an authentic and intuitive approach.
Regardless of where you find yourself in your yoga practice, this training will transform each of us on every level.
Some reviews from our graduates...
After many years of Yoga and several years of internal debate about teacher training, Joy and Jill's class at Joy of Yoga and Wildwood Yoga came recommended by a couple of mutual friends. The class was perfect for what I wanted to achieve. I wanted a class that balanced the physical asana practice with broad spiritual perspective. That and so much more were taught over the 10 month period. I would highly recommend this course for anyone looking to take their practice to levels beyond the basics of Yoga. Namaste. -Geoff
I can not say enough great things about Joy of Yoga and my teacher training. I would give my experience a 15/10 if I could. I learned so much and so grateful for the training. This was life changing for me in all the best ways. So if you are thinking about teacher training, Joy of Yoga is amazing!!!! The best in my opinion!! Joy Page and Jill Dunlap are the best teachers!! - Sandy
Joy and Jill led us on an incredible TT journey of many steps and many breaths! It was wonderful and am so thankful for their insight, guidance and support. -Caroline
Joy and Jill’s 200hour training program is well thought out and executed. They provide ample time and attention to anatomy, philosophy, and meditation/breathwork. The program was shaken up by the pandemic of 2020 and they did an amazing job continuing our education throughout these unsteady times. Their attention to detail and personal connection to their students made us all feel safe. I am so proud to be part of a training program that teaches from the heart and is more trauma informed with their language and teaching styles. This program is one that can not be compared to many and is my top choice for training in St Louis. -Rachel
My experience with Jill and Joy was one that I will carry with me forever! I started this journey for my own personal growth and expansion of my practice. It became so much more to me. Jill and Joy are not only beyond knowledgeable, but they are supportive, positive, and caring. Their program teaches so much more than just asanas. If you are looking for a program that will stretch your thinking and understanding of yoga, make you grow in ways you did not even think possible, and will challenge you to find your inner voice, this is the one for you! I cannot recommend this program enough! I am so thankful that I found it. Enjoy your journey! Namaste. -Lindsey
My teacher training was taught by two amazing yoga teachers, Joy Page of Joy of Yoga and Jill Dunlap of Wildwood Yoga and Wellness. We got caught in an unprecedented time due to COVID and both Joy and Jill were able to continue our training without much hiccups. They found creative ways around all the hurdles keeping the training challenging and interesting for us. Having two teachers teach us exposed two different perspectives and far exceeded my expectations. Jill and Joy are well versed in yoga in practice and its philosophy and are thorough. Both go beyond what may be needed for this class and you can see that they have put a lot of time and effort. Jill and Joy are both very humble and very caring. I highly recommend their yoga teacher training program. Thank you Jill and Joy. -Bhanu

The Power of Breath — Journey to Mind–Body Balance
This class invites you to explore the power of conscious breathing as a pathway to improved health and a balanced mind–body connection.
Through guided practice, you will discover the principles and benefits of Swara Yoga, an ancient yogic method for harmonizing body, mind, and consciousness through the breath.
Breath is more than a physical process—it is the rhythm of life, an anchor during stress, and a gateway to healing and self-awareness. Conscious breathing practices help regulate the nervous system, improve focus, enhance emotional resilience, and restore inner balance.
These classes are a journey inward, allowing you to harness the transformative power of mindful breathing to reset the body, calm the mind, and nourish the spirit.
Each session integrates breathing techniques (pranayama), gentle yoga asanas, and meditation practices to support holistic well-being. The asanas will improve flexibility, strength, posture, and circulation while helping release physical tension accumulated throughout the day.
Meditation practices will cultivate mental clarity, emotional stability, and deeper self-awareness, allowing participants to experience lasting relaxation and restorative sleep.
Suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

Wisdom of the Land: A Foraging Walk Through Blackburn Park
Join us for a gentle walk through Blackburn Park in the soft light of early evening, as the day begins to turn toward sunset. As part of the natural world ourselves, returning to nature invites us back inward — a chance to discharge what we’ve been carrying and quietly recharge our batteries.
Guided by Leslie Drewel, a longtime nature lover and former Naturalist at Powder Valley, whose passion for hiking and bird watching is complemented by an interest in wild edibles, we’ll learn about the nature that surrounds us, how to forage, what is edible and what is not, and make a tea from wild edibles in the park.
We'll allow ourselves to slow down and get grounded.
As we walk among the trees in the bird sanctuary, along the natural spring that lives here, we’re reminded of reciprocity — how they offer us oxygen with every breath, and how we give back carbon dioxide in return. Nature shares all she has with us, and walking in the woods can gently remind us that we already have everything we need, that we are connected, supported, and held by Mother Earth and every living thing.
Slowing down to listen, to be present, and to feel thankful for the birds, bugs, bushes, and unseen rhythms of the land is a simple and nourishing way to end the week.
This gathering is about grounding in nature, being in community, filling our cup back up at the end of the week and reconnecting with the living world around us as the light fades and the nervous system settles. We’ll move at an easy pace, pausing to observe, ask questions, and share what we notice together.
Come as you are. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a mug for the tea we’ll make from what we forage onsite.
Park in the lot off of East Jackson. Walk up the paved pathway in the middle of the park and right before you get to the tennis courts/ bathroom pavilion, you will se us on the left.
