Enhance your natural capacity to nurture, and train in the art of holding space. Restorative yoga is all at once a blend of nervous system science, anatomical support, poetic artistry, and nuance, and to teach it is to receive a lifelong gift. In this training, participants will weave their unique teaching skills with the foundations of Restorative practice to learn its principles and explore the power of stillness. Over a 10-hour weekend, the following topics will be covered to build confidence in, and substantial understanding of, leading Restorative offerings, as well as a curiosity to continue studying the necessity of relaxation:
Practice History, Influence, and Notable Teachers
Types and Styles of Rest & The Science of Relaxation
How Stress and Tension Reshape us Physically, Mentally, and Emotionally
Atmospheric Attention, Scope of Practice, and Energetic Hygiene
Student Choice, Agency, and other Trauma-Informed Considerations
Sequencing, Guided Movement, and Cueing Language
Propping and Poses
Training will take place on Saturday, September 19th from 1:00 - 6:00 PM and Sunday, September 20th from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM in the Downstairs Studio at Joy of Yoga.
