Rest as Relationship (Module B)

  • Joy of Yoga 8918 Manchester Road Brentwood, MO, 63144 United States (map)

Woven into the fabric of Restorative practices is the essential thread of relationship: every aspect of our growing presence equips us to be in intelligent alignment with our bodies and the world around us. To teach our students to touch even deeper layers of peace, it is necessary to examine the more subtle facets of the practice through the lenses of neuroscience and the mystical teachings of the yoga tradition. This collaborative, hands-on training will elevate your offerings to help students truly embody the rest you guide. Subjects of study include, but are not limited to:

  • Navigating a Hack-Based Culture

  • Polyvagal Theory & The Psychology Behind our Physiology

  • Imaginal Language, Symbolism, and Storytelling—The Power of the Mind to Relax Us

  • Theming Classes, Sequences, and Series

  • Pose Variety & Resting with Minimal Props

  • Physical and Student-Led Adjustments

Training will take place on Saturday, October 10th from 1:00 - 6:00 PM and Sunday, October 11th from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM in the Downstairs Studio at Joy of Yoga.
