This is a virtual class Central Standard Time
Yoga and Ayurveda believe when your digestion is balanced your whole body is balanced. Many of us who struggle with being overweight or underweight struggle with some form of digestive issue. Disruptions in digestion can be obvious or quite subtle, leaving us tired and disconnected. When we feel depleted we are out of rhythm with our bodies. We crave unhealthy, hard to digest foods that wreak havoc on our systems.
Ayurveda is a simple holistic approach that focuses on feeling healthy and balanced rather than promising unrealistic results. The habits of Ayurveda are easy to follow, very doable and incredibly effective over time. They create a platform to build a deeper relationship with your body and reclaim a vibrant sense of health and well-being.
Known as the "sister science" of yoga, Ayurveda is the world's oldest holistic healing system. It's intelligence is in its simplicity. Ayurveda teaches us that like increases like and that opposites balance. Each season ushers in a unique set of qualities that can either pacify or aggravate the inner workings of your being.
This workshop will help you tune into your body's needs. It will be both informational and experiential. We will introduce you to Ayurveda, it's basic principles, body types and their digestive needs. Our focus will be on the characteristics of Kapha season (late winter through spring). We will practice yoga asana and breathing techniques for the season; as well as the daily routines and food habits to keep you feeling light and mobile this spring. Ayurveda believes that maintaining consistent daily routines is the springboard for optimal energy, health, and self-healing.
