Restorative Yoga, Acupuncture, & Reiki

Restorative yoga is the yoga of deep rest. It is an invitation to make self-care a priority. Through gentle movement, simple breath work, guided relaxation and full support of the body in restorative yoga postures, the student is led into a state of deep rest and healing. This practice is a powerful antidote to the accumulated effects of stress.

While in restorative poses we invite you to transition to a deep level of bliss with De-stess + Unwind acupuncture by Dr. Abby Reed. During these deeply meditative treatment, auricular therapy is used on bilateral Shen Men to calm the spirit, balance the body, activates the parasympathetic nervous system and soothes the soul. These energetic points are beneficial for hormone balance, stress reduction, enhanced sleep and to help elevate your mood. In addition to Shen Men, acupuncture point Yin Tang will be needled, Located in the center of your eyebrows, this point helps alleviate anxiety, diminishes brain fog, headaches and sinus congestion. Yin Tang also corresponds with the third eye chakra (ajna) and pineal gland which helps enhance intuition and clarity. Aromatherapy is used to elevate the acupuncture experience for a total energetic pamper experience. You'll leave with in a replenished state of vitality and wellbeing for your body, mind and soul.

Masks will be required for the duration of this event due to the close proximity of the Reiki Practitioner and Acupuncturist.

Class will be led by Alicia Delaney (Yoga Teacher and Reiki Practitioner) & Dr. Abby Reed (doctor in Activator chiropractic technique as well as a board certified acupuncturist) Every student will receive Reiki during the practice or in savasana.

Reiki is a spiritual healing art that promotes stress reduction, relaxation and healing. The technique is based on the principle that the healer can channel spiritual healing energy to the receiver (with or without touch) and activate the natural healing processes of the body to restore physical and emotional well-being.

Quiet the body and mind, melt into stillness, and explore rest as a powerful, spiritual, and medicinal force.

About Dr. Abby Reed, D.C.

Dr. Abby Reed has an extensive background in integrative medicine and currently practices in Downtown Kansas City. She holds her Bachelors from the University of Kansas and Doctorate from Cleveland University in Kansas City. She is a proficiency rated doctor in Activator chiropractic technique as well as a board certified acupuncturist with fellowship study through Acupuncture Society of America. Early in her healthcare career, Dr. Abby became a nationally certified massage therapist building her client base at a yoga spa in Lenexa, Kansas. It was this experience, witnessing healing and transformations of her patients through mind body work and preventive medicine, which inspired her to further her education to become a doctor. Her graduate work includes experience in Traditional Chinese medicine, with special interest in vitality based prevention medicine, aesthetic anti-aging and therapeutic yoga. She has specifically developed protocols for cosmetic non-surgical facial rejuvenation, de-stress + unwind and metabolism enhancement treatments through acupuncture and provides mobile acupuncture parties with her business Haven in Kansas City. in addition to her therapeutic education, she is a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 teacher. Her passions lie within the realm of teaching and assisting her patients reach their optimal health, wellness and vitality goals through chiropractic, acupuncture, fitness, bodywork stress reduction techniques with a spa touch.

What to Bring: A yoga mat and water. If possible, please bring your own blankets and a thin pillow for behind the head (a folded blanket works well too). Props will be provided but supplies are limited!
