EspañYOGA: Beginners Mindset, is several weeks of conversation and yoga 101 to help you start the new year off with positive habits!
This series is English and Spanish taught. All levels of yoga and Spanish welcomed!
Each week will include a brief introduction to a different aspect of yoga including the opportunity to ask questions. The majority of the time we will focus on the physical aspects of a yoga practice.
*Each class builds off the previous week but each class can be attended individually.
Jan 5: “What is yoga?” Practice will focus on basic postures in a yoga flow, followed by a yoga class that puts the "flow" together!
Jan 12: “But what if I’m not flexible?” Practice will focus on the alignment of the postures in a basic yoga flow. Students will be led through an extra slow yoga class that gives enough time to notice body alignment.
Jan 19: “But what if I don't know how to meditate?” We will talk about the different styles of meditation and how meditating isn't a "one size fits all." The class will focus on practicing breath-work within movement and transition.
Jan 26: “How can I tailor the practice for me?” Not all bodies are the same. In this practice students will learn to use props in order to find what feels best in each pose.
Feb 2: “What can I expect in other yoga classes?” Introduction of other yoga poses students might see in different beginner classes, followed by an alignment-focused practice.
Feb 9: “What does it meant to take our practice ‘off the mat'?’” Students will learn a mindfulness practice that they can take anywhere they go and always come back to when needed!
