Yoga for Men


Walking into a yoga class for the first time can be intimidating. You might wonder how you could possibly contort yourself into some of the shapes you see in magazines or books. This could be doubly so if you're a guy.

The good news is, you don't have to. The beauty of yoga is that it is designed to fit you, not the other way around. An asana is not a shape, it's an experience unique to who you are.

Whether you are new to the mat or have practiced for some time, this four week series is tailored to the unique challenges of moving in the male body. You don't need to worry about having tight hips, shoulders or hamstrings. By learning to move with the breath from the inside out you will be able to start to bring a sense of spaciousness and freedom to those closed off areas.

Each class will focus on different aspects of the practice through small variations in a basic sequence, utilizing that familiarity to facilitate a deeper understanding of how yoga practice can fit around you in order to bring a sense of balance and vitality to your physical and mental well-being no matter who you are.

February 26: Moving From the Inside Out (Basic Gentle Sequence)

March 4: Slowing Down to Body Time (Legs and Hips focus)

March 11: Bringing Space to Density (Upper Body and Shoulders)

March 18: Finding Movement in the Stillness (Longer Holds and Restorative)
