Ayurveda 101: The Essentials

  • Joy of Yoga 8918 Manchester Road Brentwood, MO, 63144 United States (map)

What is Ayurveda? Commonly referred to as the lifestyle science of Yoga, Ayurveda is the world's oldest healing system still practiced today. It was developed in congruence with yoga and designed to be practiced alongside it. Both classic yoga and ayurveda look to the whole human being, which is not only a body, but mind and soul. Both address our needs from physical health and wellbeing to the unfoldment of our higher consciousness.

This workshop will help you get a clearer understanding on the history and basics of this ancient science. You'll get to know how your body is linked to the five elements and the changing cycles throughout the day, the seasons, even your life cycles. You'll be introduced to your ideal daily schedule, meal times and habits to enhance your unique strengths for optimal energy and overall health.
