Massage Therapy Balls & Yoga Nidra

In the aftermath of the holidays, it seems like everyone and everything is espousing the New Year and encouraging you to hit the ground running (as though you haven’t been running since the end of November).

But what if you took the opposite approach? What if, instead, you took 90 minutes to slow down and connect to your body, mind and breath and allowed them a respite from the hectic schedules of the previous month?

This 90-minute workshop invites you to do just that.

During the first hour we will work the body into a deep sense of relaxation using massage therapy balls and some gentle, somatic movements. This will be followed by a thirty-minute yoga nidra to help relax the mind and the nervous system.

Rolling with the therapy balls not only fosters a deep sense of physical and mental relaxation, but can also help us connect more fully with the breath while building a keener awareness of the body.

Yoga nidra—the sleep of yoga—is a meditative practice that moves you into a deep state of conscious relaxation. It is best done on an empty stomach. Loose fitting clothing is recommended. And be sure that you’re hydrated.
