In this class we will explore how the philosophy of yoga weaves through the physical practice to be absorbed by the body and the mind so that we can tap into that inner calm that lies at the center of each one of us. Each class will focus on a specific aspect of yogic philosophy and how it applies to the practice. The sequences will incorporate longer holds in poses while utilizing breath to create space and heat in the body to relieve tension and toxins, followed by a simple pranayama practice to cool everything down before an extended Savasana.
Philosophy is an integral part of the yoga practice. These days, however, it is often seen as separate from the physical practice. True, yoga asana does make us stronger and more flexible, but yoga is more than postures. It is a way of both looking at our lives and navigating a very real and sometimes trying world. It can help us understand how to bring balance to our own lives and to those around us one breath at a time. Yoga will always be there to meet you exactly where you are.
