These two workshops (attend one or both) are primers on how we can more compassionately support one another during the dying and death processes. You’ll increase both your competence in and confidence about the end-of-life landscape so that you can better help your loved ones navigate this most sacred time of life.
During the first workshop (June 10), we’ll discuss the overarching history of our culture’s treatment of dying and death as context for where we are now as a collective. Then we will take a closer look at the current challenges and opportunities that commonly present themselves at the end of life, including palliative care, hospice, complementary holistic modalities, burial options, and more.
The second workshop (July 15) is a deep dive into the stages and phases of dying. We will discuss both tangible and intangible ways — practical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual methodologies — to serve the dying and their circle of support during the active dying phase specifically (i.e., months-weeks-days to live).
These classes are best taken in conjunction with one another for maximum benefit, although the content in each can stand alone. They are well suited for any one at any stage of life, but they will be especially meaningful if you are or anticipate supporting a loved one in their transition and/or if you have a loved one currently receiving palliative or hospice care.
