Yin Yoga+Mindfulness

This Yin+Mindfulness class involves a deeper study of our relationship to our anchors of awareness when in stillness. We will be using breath in our bodies , the ground beneath and the felt sense of our bodies while in each still shape. As we begin to attune ourselves to our relationship to stillness using our anchors of awareness, we can begin to make empowered choices within our mindfulness and a yin shape to find our own personal sense of ease and balance, We will do this with the use of props, a change in position or pace of breath through a compassion focused lens.

Ashtanga + Yin Yoga

45 minutes of the half primary Ashtanga series following another 30 minutes of yin yoga. Blending the dynamic movement and strength of an Ashtanga practice with the deep stretching of a Yin practice can be supportive to our bodies in a time when many of us are sitting more often.

Our Ashtanga practice will start out with repetitive, heat building movement and slowly builds to twists and dynamic movement that works all the major muscles and joints through lunges, back bends, forward folds squats and basic inversions.

The yin practice will be mostly floor based that focuses on deep stretching and releasing tension in the body.

Students will be encouraged to meet themselves where they are at with compassion and curiosity as we move through both the Ashtanga and Yin component.
