Astrology Basics

Are you craving a way to learn more about yourself, others, & the life you've created? Astrology is a complex and ancient system of self "seeing".

Learning this system will create validation for who you've experienced yourself to be and your potential to come. Join Astrologist, Aurora Dea Luna, for these classes of soul seeing...The Astrology Basics. Each week we'll learn in depth about a foundational principle of the Zodiac.

Week One (March 12): Introduction to Astrology
How can astrology help you create deeper understanding of the stars and how to use them to find healing in your life.

Week Two (March 19): The 12 Signs
The most basic principle in Astrology are the 12 Signs. These are the 12 Constellations that are found on the ecliptic, the path of the Sun. The 12 signs are probably what your'e most familiar with, i.e. if you're born on a particular day then you have a specific sign. That's what people are referring to when they say, "I'm a Cancer".

Week Three (March 26): Planets and Aspects
The planets are the celestial bodies that travel the path of the ecliptic. These planets represent the major archetypal energies that were deemed so important that they were made into Gods. For example, Mercury, the messenger, is represented by Hermes. Venus, goddess of love, is represented by Aphrodite.

There are many layers to Astrology that add complexity and meaning to the interpretation. A major one of these are the Aspects. The Aspects are the angular relationships between Planets and Signs that tell the story of how the Planets and Signs interact with each other.

Week Four (April 2): The 12 Houses
Like a clock, the Zodiac is divided into 12 segments, or houses. Each house is ruled by a different Sign. The zodiac begins with the first house, and goes counterclockwise around. Each house adds an additional layer of meaning for interpretation. For example, the first house represents the self. The second house represents security and finances.

Each participant will need to come with their accurate natal chart information: time, place, & date of birth. If you don't have your birth certificate or know your time of birth? Don't worry this information can be ordered. Please contact Aurora at DawnoftheMoonApothecary@gmail.com in advance of class.

Yoga Nidra by Candlelight

A state between waking and sleeping, yoga nidra is a practice passed down by ancient yogis as a means to dive into the subconscious and deepen inner awareness. Regular practice can boost creativity, shift responses to stress, regulate circadian rhythms, and offer blissful meditative oneness with the body, mind, and broader states of consciousness.

After a few minutes of gentle poses to relieve general stiffness and discomfort, students will relax lying down for approximately 30 minutes of yoga nidra. Vitalizing the Meridians through Life Nourishing Movement
Apr

to Jun 13

Vitalizing the Meridians through Life Nourishing Movement

What if there are switches in the body we can turn on to feel more alive?

What if there are endless sources of vitality in the body we can actually touch with our hands?

What if the body can be smoothed out in a few simple strokes like a garden hose unfolds to allow water to flow again?

What if movements can relax and nourish the body?

These are some of the gifts offered by the ancient practice of body meridian connection and Qi guided movements.

In Traditional Chinese medicine, Qi is the life energy that infuses living beings and pervades the universe. Like a river of life, Qi flows in our body along pathways called meridians, making us whole, vital, and full of life.

We will nourish and connect with the main sensory organs and the whole body through meridian massage, relax and increase microcirculation to our thinking mind and our busy body.

We will practice part of the 13 Form Life Nourishing Movements. These slow, soft, flowing movements synergize the rhythm of the body with breath and flow of Qi. We will learn to activate the reproductive energy and support spinal health - to rest while in motion and experience calm in action and connect to the wellness and vitality that is already within us.

Preparation: wear loose and comfortable clothing with easy access to the skin of arms and legs. Relatively empty stomach and willingness to be kind to your body.

Sacred Cacao Ceremony led by Keri Kugler

Sacred Cacao Ceremony led by Keri Kugler

Shamanic healing is one of the oldest holistic healing practices used by ancient cultures worldwide for centuries. Cacao ceremonies are a type of shamanic healing, but they don’t have hallucinogenic or “out of body” effects, unlike some of the other shamanic experiences.

Cacao ceremonies are rooted in helping to rebalance the energies within us, and restore good health. The benefits of drinking cacao are plentiful. Among being packed with vitamins and minerals cacao is rich with emotional and spiritual benefits as well. Cacao is said to assist in opening our hearts, connecting us to higher self, deeper states of meditation, mental clarity, creativity, healing--and it's FUN and DELICIOUS!

In this ceremony we will open the sacred space with gentle movement. We will then reconnect to our heart’s wisdom by setting intentions and releasing what is no longer serving us as we sip on delicious, organic cacao direct from a small farm in Belize.

Together we will bring in new intentions and end ceremony with more movement to surrender fully. Throughout this experience you will be held and nurtured and will experience a heightened sense of connectedness to everyone else around you and to the sacredness that lies within and surrounds you always.

Yoga for Gardeners

Yoga for Gardeners

We began as mineral. We emerged into plant life, and into the animal state, and then into being human, and always we have forgotten our former states, except in early spring when we slightly recall being green again. ~Rumi

After the doldrums of winter, gardeners celebrate the return of planting season with renewed zeal and a tendency to overdo. All of this over-exuberance can lead to aches, pains, and some serious muscle fatigue.

This workshop will focus on yoga stretches to warm up your joints and muscles before working the soil. Katie will specifically focus on poses and stretches that target those areas of the body that are subject to repetitive motion and overuse: neck, shoulders, back, hands, knees, hips, and feet.

Ayurveda 101

Ayurveda 101

Ayurveda is India's 5000 year old traditional system of natural medicine and healing. It has timeless and now proven methods of restoring balance and health in body, mind and spirit. It is the sister science to Yoga and translated as 'The Science Of Life'.

Ayurveda is simple wisdom we can use every day to restore optimal physical health and gain mental and spiritual clarity. In this workshop, you will learn some very simple ways to begin incorporating this ancient wisdom into your everyday life today.

Ayurveda is based on the rhythms and cycles of our natural world. And is comprised of the 3 doshas-- Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Remember that doshas are subtle, influential forces. When their actions in our mind-body constitution are balanced, we experience psychological and physical wellness. When they are unbalanced, we may feel uneasy. When they are more obviously unbalanced -- when one or more of the three dosha influences are excessive or deficient -- discernible symptoms or unwellness can be observed and experienced.

As we transition into Spring, Ayurveda calls this "Kapha" Season, we may already notice our bodies changing. In Ayurveda, the qualities (gunas) of Kapha are heavy, slow, cool, slow, soft, dense, stable and sticky. Some of us my be experiencing more congestion or even allergies just a few days into the season.

Regardless of our own particular constitution or dosha (which we will learn in class!), we are effected by our natural world. Ayurveda teaches us how to balance these qualities in simple and logical ways, including foods to eat, that just makes so much sense!

Yoga Alliance CE credits available for this course.

Reiki Training Level 1

A new session of Traditional Usui Reiki training Level 1 starts soon!

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a powerful healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered through the hands and is based on the knowledge that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and keeps us alive and well.

When we're not feeling well, it can be caused by blockages in our flow of energy that becomes stagnant causing us to feel sick, imbalanced, overly emotional or stressed. Reiki works to clear and balance the energies of the body, bringing about profound physical, emotional, and spiritual changes in a person.

Reiki I practitioners learn the basics of Reiki Healing, as well as how to perform self-healing and the hand positions to heal others.

Through the Reiki attunement process we activate healing on every level of our being and the ability to offer this healing to others.

During this course we will learn:

  • The background and history of Reiki

  • Basic Energy Healing concepts (energy, energy healing, auras, chakras, meridians and nadis)

  • How Reiki Works (including specific scientific studies)

  • How to use Reiki to heal oneself

  • How to use Reiki to heal others (including animals)

  • How to do a Reiki Shower

  • How to Imbue Sacred Objects with Reiki

Who can learn Reiki?

  • Anyone who wants to practice self-care

  • Those who want to begin or further their spiritual development

  • Anyone who experiences stress, anxiety, chronic pain, physical ailments/illness, spiritual blocks

  • Those who want to help heal animals

What makes this course different than other Reiki Trainings?

  • Because the course is spread out over multiple weeks, this allows more time to learn the information, practice, and integrate the knowledge and adjust to the new vibration of energy. Many Reiki First Degree courses are taught all at once in one weekend, individually, or in three 1-hour sessions, leaving minimal time to process the new information, ask questions, or receive guidance and additional feedback. This course is spread out over multiple weeks, and equals a total of 8 hours of training, so that at the end of the training all Reiki I practitioners feel confident in their ability to use Reiki energy to heal themselves and others.

  • A strong emphasis is placed on hands-on practice. Students receive hours of hands-on experience in class and homework is given to practice between sessions.

  • You will receive support in integrating this new vibration of energy. Receiving an attunement can bring up mild physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual shifts, that can at times feel uncomfortable or overwhelming. This is happening because your vibration is increasing, and you are releasing old habits and patterns that no longer resonate with your new vibration. The attunement is given during the 1st class (of two week sessions), and the 2nd class (of four week sessions), so that students have support and guidance built into the class as they adjust to the new energy.

  • Additional Resources for Spiritual Development & Reiki Healing. We emphasize spiritual growth and Reiki healing as a life-long pursuit, and provide many additional handouts, websites, organizations, and other resources for Reiki 1 students to access along the way. We also provide individual feedback and guidance throughout the training program.

Upon completing this training, you will have been trained in Traditional Usui Reiki First Degree (Reiki I), and receive your Reiki I attunement and certificate as a Traditional Usui First Degree Practitioner.

The fee for this course is $295.

Sound Bath- Halloween Night! Healing Sound, Restorative Yoga, Tibetan Bowls and Planetary Gongs

Join Pati Pellerito and Joy Page for two hours of healing through Sound, Yoga, Meditation, Breathwork and connection to a renewed sense of peace and calm.

As we place our body postures of receptivity, we allow. The layers of tension melt, our busy minds settle and the complexities of life fade into the background. During this session, our bodies will absorb the healing vibrations of sound of the Tibetan Bowls and Planetary Gongs and the energies of breathwork and yogic posture. Through these alchemical processes we shift, our connective tissue and brain waves literally recalibrate toward balance, creativity and ease.

The multitudinous sounds and waves of soothing energy from Tibetan Singing Bowls, Planetary Gongs, and many other percussive and acoustic instruments offer nutrition for the neurological system as well as medicine for the soul. Many describe this experience as transportive, as the sounds encourage a shift in brain wave state to alpha-theta, one that supports a restful and rejuvenating experience.

Join us and leave this experience feeling grounded, clear and fresh.

Yoga Teacher Training 2019

to Aug 9

Yoga Teacher Training 2019

Wildwood Yoga and Joy of Yoga will be conducting a 200HR Registered Yoga Teacher Training and Immersion for anyone wanting to become a certified yoga teacher or those that would like to immerse themselves into their physical practice and understanding of yoga's history, philosophy and practical application in today's world.

What makes this Yoga Teacher Training distinctive is its ability to draw from a wide spectrum of yoga practices, philosophies and techniques. This training promises to deliver intellectually stimulating content, physically empowering practices, and spiritual connection through the cultivation of a daily sadhana practice. Physical strength and flexibility are not requirements to be a yoga teacher. The desire to better yourself and those around you are the requirements for this training.

This training is design to connect you to your inner teacher and guide. This is not a set of prescribed sequences that must be delivered with prescribed speech. It is a map to lead you to that inner wisdom and voice of the teacher within. Intuition, creativity, connection and thoughtful application are the cornerstones of the knowledge and teaching methods you will gain. Teachers will be asked to be accountable and to know why they are designing their classes with a specific sequence of poses, knowing that there is never just one way or one response, but that there is always an authentic and intuitive approach.

As a yoga teacher, we continuously put ourselves again and again in the seat of a student enabling us to hold more compassion and understanding for our students and continuously educating ourselves on the new ideas, fresh perspectives of the Yogic Teachings. Teaching yoga is a great responsibility, one that must be held in the highest regard. To be a yoga teacher is to be a 'Mitra', a friend to all of humanity. We are all a part of the great tree of life.

Regardless of where you find yourself in your yoga practice, this training will transform each of us on every level. Welcome to your brand new beginning!

A few reviews on Yoga Alliance from our recent graduates:

"Joy and Jill have poured their hearts and shared wealth of knowledge into this RYT200 training and as a result the program they have created is truly excellent. There are so many compliments I could leave here, but perhaps most relevant is that I believe they have left all of us who completed the program feeling fully prepared to teach and teach well. Beyond the practical, these incredible women have designed a journey full of love, community, kindness, and self-realization through the close study and practice of the ancient tradition of yoga." -Andrea

"Joy and Jill have an incredibly deep well of knowledge and experience that they were so willing to share with my training class, and they brought amazing outside resources to us to round out our learning. For 10 weekends, through their words, their energy, their love of yoga and teaching, Joy and Jill provided a truly supportive space where I learned so much more than just philosophy, alignment, anatomy, meditation, and breath work: they helped me find my voice and the confidence to take it out into the world. The training Joy and Jill have put together will give you so much more than you could hope to expect." -Lindsay

I cannot say enough amazing things about this 200 HR-RYT program!! Joy and Jill are some of the most loving, big-hearted, gifted, smart & capable women that I know. This program will deepen your practice physically, mentally and emotionally. They provide vast knowledge to the trainees on the history and philosophy of yoga; trainees leave this program with a rich, well-rounded foundation to begin their yoga teacher journey. Joy and Jill provide such a safe, nurturing environment that encourages everyone to reach their full potential. You will feel cherished and loved throughout this intense journey. You will finish the 10 months of this journey a much stronger individual. Your heart will be opened, your mind expanded, and your body so well prepared to engage your students in a rich yoga practice. Joy and Jill do a wonderful job of teaching alignment, but more importantly, they share great insight on how to develop a keen eye as you watch your students to see what cues need to be given. They teach you that every body is different, and while alignment is important, it will look and feel differently for each individual. They teach you to see the beauty first and then to provide the guidance that will enable your student to blossom to her/his best self. I am so grateful to Joy and Jill; they have helped shape my entire teacher prospective. I feel so confident in the foundation they so generously offered. I would recommend this program to every aspiring yogi. It will change your life. -Colleen

Full Moon Gentle Yoga and Reiki

While moving through a gentle and restorative yoga practice, we will connect to the cycles and rhythms of our natural world and learn about the energy of this full moon. Syncing up with our universe and using astrology to thrive in everyday life is one powerful way to use mother nature to help us feel balanced and whole again. When we understand the subtle, yet powerful influences of our natural world we can harness and capture that energy to manifest what we want to bring into our lives or release and free ourselves of whatever it is that is holding us back.

A full moon may have the energy of our world feeling heightened, which may leave you feeling motivated, agitated or depleted. Each us us will have to recognize and work with the way it affects us individually and ask the questions, do the digging to help reveal the layers of who you really are. Tapping into the energy of our world, the phases of the moon and positioning of the planets are all tools each of us has to make sense of what can feel at times to be nonsensical. There is a reason, a way, a lesson here for you to uncover.

Join us each month in new moon and full moon yoga classes. Come learn about the natural rhythms and cycles of your universe, the moon's cycles, where she is energetically and how the circumstances of your life are in rhythm, all while moving through a gentle and restorative yoga practice.

Ayurveda at Night

Ayurveda at Night

Prepare for deep, restful sleep through Ayurvedic Routine.

In Ayurveda it is believed that maintaining consistent daily routines, called dinacharya, is the springboard to optimal health.

This ancient, time tested wisdom came from observing the cyclical rhythms found in the universe. Just as the moon orbits around the earth every 28 days and the earth revolves around the sun every 24 hours, our bodies also have similar cyclical rhythms that, if supported and respected, can have a profound effect on our overall health and well being.

In this class we will learn the order of techniques in nighttime ritual provided by Ayurveda. We will drink golden milk, learn what is ideal to eat for dinner and at what time, how to tongue scrape, oil massage, oil pull and more!

This class will be informational and experiential. Together we will go step-by-step through a typical nighttime routine (dinacharya).

You will learn which practices are best for you and your dosha and leave with recipes (golden milk and soup), products (everyone will receive self massage oil and a copper tongue scraper to take home) and worksheets to re-create your routine at home.

Come ready for bed (showered and in jammies if you like!) and leave ready to experience one of the best night's sleep you've ever had!

Love Your Low Back

Flow. Support. Vitalize.
A Yoga & Meditation Workshop to Nourish Your Back

In today’s busy world, many of us either sit for extended hours or perform repetitive motions that create weakness, pain, tension, and tightness in the lower back. In this yoga workshop, you will be guided in yoga postures to align your hips and lower back to create a balance of strength and flexibility in the back, abdominal muscles, hip flexors, and psoas, which supports freedom to fully enjoy movement in your body.

Yoga teaches us that from a conscious and stable foundation, we are supported and vitalized. Creating both a sense of feeling at home in our bodies and an openness to our evolution and growth, the subtle centers in our navel, pelvic and root hold the gifts of grounding, empowerment and creativity.

The workshop will include a forward-bend asana practice focused on low back and hips, open to both beginners and experienced practitioners.

Hatha Yoga: Deepening Your Practice - A New Weekly Class

Join us for a new weekly class every Thursday 9:00 - 10:00 am with Rhonda Mills!

Tantric Hatha Yoga comes from the Himalayan tradition of Sri Vidya, which includes the right hand path of Tantra, Patanjali (or classical) Yoga, and Ayurveda.

Inspired by the Yoga Sutras, you are invited to approach your practice with steadiness and ease, versus straining and struggling. This approach keeps the body in balance, the systems in harmony and the mind easeful.
We will create strength at every level of your system to expand your capacity for joy and your resilience to the inevitable stressors of life.

As these attitudes become grounded in you, you create new and positive habits. In changing your habits, you literally change your body, your nervous system, and your brain to uncover the newly emerging you; increasingly strong, balanced, naturally joyful and resting in your essence.

Reiki Training Level I

17
to Mar 3

Reiki Training Level I

A new session of Traditional Usui Reiki training Level 1 starts soon!Class will be held over 2 weekends: Feb 17 and March 3. There will be no class on Feb 24.

  • Basic Energy Healing concepts (what is energy? energy healing? auras? chakras? meridians?)

Deep Tissue Release with Massage Ball Therapy

Learn to soften the deepest layers of tension and stress from your body, heart, and mind. During this workshop we will combine gentle movement and deep stretches with massage therapy ball techniques. Our focus is to release the fascial layer, part of the soft connective tissue system where much of our pain and tension lie. Massage Therapy Balls get into tight spots the way nothing else can.

They help you:

  • Access hard to reach tightness

  • Ease tension and pain

  • Stimulate circulation

  • Soften scar tissue

  • Release trigger points

  • Work into soft connective tissue

  • Improve breath capacity

  • Enhance movement, performance, and recovery

  • Stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (the deep healing mode of your body)

By releasing this layer of the body you can invite a sense of deep relaxation to restore and rebalance every system in your body.

* Please note the balls are not recommended for bruised skin or broken bones. If you have osteoporosis, please check with your doctor before attending this or any new body wellness program.

No experience necessary. All levels are welcome, and yoga therapy balls will be provided for the duration of class.

Yoga with the Beatles! (February 2nd!)

Yoga with the Beatles! (February 2nd!)

“Turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream” in this 90-minute flow class with Brianna Owens set to an all Beatles playlist. Music is a powerful tool to aid us in our experience on our mats, a tool that can both enhance and deepen the physical, mental, and spiritual work we engage in when we practice yoga.

The Beatles often explored themes of being, consciousness, awareness, and spirituality in their work, and they were instrumental figures in bringing Eastern yogic ideals to the West.

We will begin class with a short conversation about the group’s relationship with the Maharishi, their implementation and interest in transcendental meditation, Indian ideology, and Eastern melodic structures. We will then hit our mats for a light-hearted, all-levels flow class in which you are encouraged to sing, dance, and experience your practice in whatever way the music compels you!

New Moon Gentle Yoga and Reiki

New Moon Gentle Yoga and Reiki

While moving through a gentle and restorative yoga practice, we will connect to the cycles and rhythms of our natural world and learn about the energy of this full moon. Syncing up with our universe and using astrology to thrive in everyday life is one powerful way to use mother nature to help us feel balanced and whole again. When we understand the subtle, yet powerful influences of our natural world we can harness and capture that energy to manifest what we want to bring into our lives or release and free ourselves of whatever it is that is holding us back.

A new moon may have the energy of our world feeling more subdued and internal, which may leave you feeling aligned and clear, or depleted. Above all else, the new moon is a potent time to connect with our seeds of intention. What are we aligning with in life? And how can we use the new moon energy to help us see even more clearly how better to do this.

Each us us will have to recognize and work with the way it affects us individually and ask the questions, do the digging to help reveal the layers of who you really are and what our individual purpose is. Tapping into the energy of our world, the phases of the moon and positioning of the planets are all tools each of us has to make sense of what can feel at times to be nonsensical. There is a reason, a way, a lesson here for you to uncover.

Join us each month in new moon and full moon gentle yoga and reiki classes. Come learn about the natural rhythms and cycles of your universe, the moon's cycles, where she is energetically and how the circumstances of your life are in rhythm, all while moving through a gentle and restorative yoga practice.

Connecting Your Energy Field to Joy, Peace, and Wellbeing

Life can often feel complex and overwhelming. It's easy to find ourselves feeling stuck, blocked or even chaotic. Perhaps you have been trying many things to feel more balanced and peaceful. These practices do help and yet you find yourself back to the same feelings and experiences no matter what you try. It's exhausting. The thought of adding in “one more thing” feels impossible. You may be wondering if it is even possible to shift the way you experience your life.

We get it. We’ve been there. And we also know the answer is YES! Join Mary and Peggy to learn how to bring that feeling of joy, peace and wellbeing into your life. The solution lies WITHIN you and working with your own field of energy.

Concepts of the human energy field are being rediscovered and discussed around the globe. The Human Energy Field has been an integral aspect of many Eastern cultures for thousands of years. In our modern times, this concept of human energy can feel abstract and difficult to integrate into our own personal daily life.

This workshop will show you how to do just that. It will be informative and experiential, empowering you with wisdom and practices you can take home and begin to use immediately.

During the workshop we will:

• Explain the of human energy fields in detailed, yet understandable terms

• Discuss what energy is, where energy comes from and how it flows through you

• Teach you simple practices you can incorporate into your every day life right away that will shift and enhance your own energy flow to create the life you desire

• Provide a safe, sacred space for discussion and sharing

• Include ample time for you to experience the practices we teach

After attending this full-day workshop you will:

• Have a deeper understanding of energy, including your own energy field

• Be able to shift your energy for more joy, and wellbeing

• Experience a deeper connection to your Self

• Have a template for daily energy practices

• Make connections with like minded people!

Here is a little snapshot to how the day will unfold:

9:00- 11:30 am: Welcome and Introductions

Introduction to Class Material, Centering and Meditation

11:30-12:30 pm: Lunch

About Peggy:

Peggy coaches individuals how to better understand and be in touch with their own magnificent energy. She offers them tools to allow the energy to flow optimally in them and their life.

Energy is the foundational element of everything. As a human, we are energy that is experienced as physical form. The observable experience of our self is our physical body. The non-observable experience of our Self is our energetic vibrational dynamics.

Understanding the relationship between physical matter and energy is very important in understanding our human experience. Energy vibrates at certain frequencies and manifests matter. Our experience of matter, our physical body and world, is the result of energy vibrating at certain frequencies to manifest this experience of humanness.

To understand our Self as a human, we must become aware of our underlying energetic dynamics that is manifesting our human experience of physical form.

Peggy is dedicated to helping individuals be happier and healthier.
